New The Idea :

The idea of establishing Al-Ahly was aroused by Omar Lotfi who was the
Chairman of the High School Students Union. He shared the idea with Edrees Rageb
Pasha, Omar Sultan Pasha, Ismaeel Serry, Abdul El Khalek Tharwat, and Ameen
Samy. They came together with the idea to establish a club for high school
students to spend their spare time, as the Union was formed for political
reasons in the first place. They decided to establish a company with five
thousand Egyptian Pounds.

The higher administrative committee (The Board) chose Englishman Mitchel Ince as
the first president of Al-Ahly in order to influence occupation authorties to
help obtain suitable land (from the government) for establishing the club.

The first official meeting of higher administrative committee was held in April
24, 1907, in Anas' residence, as Mitchel Ince as chairman and Omar Lotfi, Edrees
Rageb Pasha, Ismaeel Serry, and Ameen Sammy as members and Mohamed Sherif as a
secretary. Ince remained president until April 2, 1908.

The name :

On February,25 1908 Ameen Samy suggested the name Ahly Athletic Club (English
translation: National Athletic Club), as it was founded to contain High School
Students who were the main pillar for the resistance against British occupation
of Egypt. So, it was founded as an Egyptian national club to unite these
students, and named Al-Ahly to represent nationalism with the literal meaning of
the word. Ahly is considered the first club founded for Egyptians in Egypt and
was established during British occupation of Egypt.

Al-Ahly's original home colours

El-Ahly derived its color from the early 20th century Flag of Egypt. Story of
the color goes back to year 1911 when the jersey was linear striped in red and
white. Then, it was changed to a half red-a half white linear jersey ,until it
rests at the red color only as it was the color of the Egyptian flag in the
reign period of Abbas Helmy the second at that time.

Logo :

Al-Ahly’s logo was designed on November,3 1917 by Mohammad Sherif Sabry Bek, a
member in the club at that time and was the King Farouk uncle. The logo was
adorned with the king’s crown which was the symbol of reign in the upper part.

MOHAMED ABD EL WAHAB

Mohamed abd el wahab
Born in July 13, 1983 – August 31, 2006 was an Egyptian footballer, playing in defence, who was an important part of the Egyptian squad that won the 2006 African Nations Cup. He died during training with his club Al Ahly on 31 August 2006.
Early life and career:
Mohamed Abdelwahab was born in the rural town of Al Fayyum. He began his professional career with Aluminum club and whilst there caught the eye of then national youth team coach Hassan Shehata, who included him in his squad. He went on to be part of the Egyptian youth team that won the 2003 African Cup of Nations in Mali.
His excellent form in the World Youth Championship in the United Arab Emirates encouraged UAE side Al-Zafra to sign him on a four-year-contract. However, he did not make any appearances at Al-Zafra and spent his first year on-loan to ENPPI. Whilst there he was called up to the Egyptian national team by Italian coach Marco Tardelli. Abdelwahab scored on his debut in the national team's opening 2006 World Cup qualifier against Sudan.
He then joined Al Ahly on a two-year loan but failed to secure a staring place in his first season with the club since coach Manuel Jose depended mainly on Angolan international Gilberto. His break came in the 2005 African Champions League final against Etoile Sahel of Tunisia when Gilberto left the pitch injured after ten minutes. Abdelwahab was brought on and went on to set-up Osama Hosni for Al-Ahly's second goal in the 3-0 win that saw the club crowned African champions.
Abdelwahab became a pivotal member of Hassan Shehata's national squad and helped Egypt win the 2006 African Cup of Nations on home soil by scoring the second penalty in the penalty shootout against Côte d'Ivoire. His steady performances helped Al Ahly secure their second local title, the Egyptian Cup and African Super Cup in the same season.
Ahly then moved to land the player on permanent basis from Al-Zafra who turned down the offer. However, a clause in the player's contract with the UAE side allowed him to annul it and sign for Ahly, triggering a tug-of-war between Ahly and Al-Zafra and leaving the player inactive for the entire summer, causing him to lose his place in the national side. FIFA had still not determined the outcome of the disagreement when he died on August 31, 2006.
Death:
Abdelwahab collapsed during Ahly's morning training session on 31 August 2006. He was rushed to 'Egypt International Hospital' in Dokki, Cairo, but the 23-year-old winger passed away before he could be revived. National coach Hassan Shehata and the players will travel to Abdelwahab's hometown, Al Fayyum, to attend the funeral proceedings.

MIDO

Ahmed Hossam "Mido"

Born February 23, 1983 in Cairo, is an Egyptian footballer who is a striker and currently with Italian side AS Roma Mido is well known for his volatile temperament , strength in the air as well as his footballing prowess and his great team spirit . He was reported to be the highest ever paid Egyptian professional and in 2002 Mido was named African Youth Player of the Year. He made his first full international appearance against the UAE scoring Egypt's first goal in a 2-1 victory. Recently he established the "Mido Football Academy" which is recognised as a step in revolutionizing Egyptian football. At Ajax, he averaged a goal every other game, but clashed with coach Ronald Koeman and reportedly threw a pair of scissors at fellow Ajax striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic after an argument. He has earned 43 caps for Egypt, but lost his place in the national team after a bitter falling-out in 2004 with then-coach Marco Tardelli. He claimed to be unavailable for the national team due to an injury, but played in a friendly match with Roma 24 hours later. Tardelli immediately dropped him, and the national federation announced that he would not play again for the team. In January 2005, Mido was signed by Tottenham Hotspur on an 18-month loan deal. He scored two goals on his Spurs debut and continued to improve in the following months, proving to be well-suited for the Premiership. In the 2005-2006 season, he scored 14 goals in 28 games. By this time Tardelli had been sacked as Egypt coach, and the federation signaled that they would consider a return by Mido if he were willing to apologise for his past behaviour. In February, while his new teammates were playing in an FA Cup tie for which he was ineligible, Mido flew to Cairo and made a public apology. The following month, he was recalled to the national team. On February 8, 2006, it was announced that Mido had been thrown out of the Egypt team as a consequence of an argument with coach Hassan Shehata in which it was falsely rumored that he called his manager a 'donkey' (interpreted as an "idiot" or an "ass") during the African Cup of Nations. The argument had started after Mido reacted badly to being substituted in the semi-final game against Senegal. The Egyptian Football Association subsequently ruled Mido out of the international team for six months. Mido later apologised to the coach and his teammates who went on to win the cup by beating Cote d'Ivoire 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out in the final. Mido ended the 2005-06 Premiership season as Tottenham's second-highest goalscorer with 14 goals. He also established a great following at the club. He also expressed that he did not wish to return to Roma, but rather sign permanently with Tottenham. On February 18, 2006, Tottenham manager, Martin Jol declared that the club were confident of signing Mido on a permanent basis due to his good performances. However in May of 2006 Tottenham signed Dimitar Berbatov for £10.9 million, and announced that they would not be signing Mido permanantly. It was rumoured that AS Roma rejected a £6.5 million bid from Blackburn Rovers F.C for Mido, as they were not willing to sell him at a price less than £8.1 millions. And although Mido has been linked to a move to Blackburn, Blackburn's signing three players, Benni McCarthy, Francis Jeffers, and Jason Roberts, all of whom are strikers, may indicate that they cooled off their interest in him. It should be noted that Luciano Spalletti was not in charge of Roma when Mido joined Tottenham Hotspur. According to Sky Sports, Luciano Spalletti is happy with Mido, describing him as being "physically good" and "good at heading", hinting that he may be a part of his plans for the next season. But lastly he moved to The Spurs for £12 million.

AHMED HASSAN

Ahmed Hassan
Introduction
(born 2 May 1975, stands 178m, and weighs 70kg)[[1]] is an Egyptian football player who is currently playing as an attacking midfielder or on the right wing for R.S.C. Anderlecht in (Belgium) and the Egyptian national team.He started his professional football career at 17 with Ismaily and was 20 when he was selected for the first time to play in the Egyptian national team's friendly match against Ghana on 29 December, 1995[[2]]. After his impressive performances with the Egyptian national team in the African Cup of Nations 1998, including scoring a goal from a long range shot against South Africa in the final that helped the national team win the tournament, Hassan joined Kocaelispor from Ismaily, at the age of 22. In 2000, he was tranferred to Denizlispor. And in 2001, he joined his Egyptian international teammate Abdel Zaher El Saka when he moved to Gençlerbirligi. After three successful seasons with the club, he moved to Besiktas, where he was a first team regular, as well as a regular on the team's scoring sheet. He, specifically, impressed Jean Tigana, who was appointed the manager of Besiktas in October 2005, and is known for his tendency to prefer selecting young players for his first team, as he regarded Hassan, even at the age of 30, a key player of the squad. He stated that "Hassan is a hardworking player who is quick and talented. His only problem is not liking the team play. He wants to be free on the pitch. He is my irregular prince as he doesn't play in the team-system."[[3]]After he was named "Best Player of the African Cup of Nations 2006"[[4]], Fulham F.C., Newcastle United F.C., and Espanyol were reportedly interested in signing him. However, he chose to move to R.S.C. Anderlecht, the Belgium league champions, on a free transfer after he chose not to extend his contract with Besiktas, which ended in 2006.Ahmed Hassan has played in six African Cup of Nations tournaments for Egypt, winning the tournament twice, first in 1998 and again in 2006. In the African Cup of Nations 2006, he was chosen as a captain for the Egyptian national team, and helped the team's cause with 4 goals in 6 matches, which placed him as the second top goal scorer of the tournament[[5]]. He was named later "Best Player of the tournament".
